Yoga Nidra, a Sanskrit term meaning “yogic sleep,” is a deep relaxation technique and a form of meditation. This practice leads the practitioner to a state that hovers between sleep and wakefulness, where the body is at rest while the mind stays vigilant. During a yoga Nidra session, you’ll be guided through a sequence of verbal instructions that incorporate breath, body, and awareness techniques.
